OBJECTIVES:

1. Replication of MAD DADS Chapter model within EVERY state by the year 2015.
   
   
2. Develop and implement community based programs to address social needs aimed at safe neighborhoods, and healthy families.
   
   
3. Develop and implement MAD DADS Signature Programs e.g., STREET MENTORING PATROLS in troubled neighborhoods; networking with local law enforcement and community based organizations to create and maintain safer neighborhoods, communities and cities.
   
   
4. Develop and implement projects and activities to mobilize, train and guide men to positively impact the issues of drugs, crime and violence.
   
   
5. Develop media campaigns, public forums and policy statements designed to raise public awareness on the role of parental and male responsibility.

CODE OF CONDUCT

PHILOSOPHY
MAD DADS Inc. is an organization based on volunteerism. The organization recognizes its immense responsibility in the community, especially towards young people. Therefore, MAD DADS must not allow themselves to be governed by negative social instincts. MAD DADS must learn to deviate from the “norm,” and establish appropriate behavior for the sake of youth. If one cannot live up to these standards, MAD DADS is not for that individual.

The conduct and morals of a MAD DADS must be beyond reproach. The mission of MAD DADS demands that each member maintain a high standard of morals. MAD DADS must be good role models.  The organization is aware that due to the nature of its recruitment, “problem people” will occasionally become members. MAD DADS is willing to work with those who admittedly have a problem. However, under no circumstances will any “undesirable” activity be tolerated. Referrals and in-house programs will be established to aid those men needing help to reach the standards of MAD DADS. For those who cannot meet those standards, they will be removed from the organization.
 
CREED
It should be noted that MAD DADS Inc. is a GOD-fearing organization and as such, sets forth the following: AS GOD IS OUR HELP, WE WILL YIELD TO NO EVIL FOR WE BELIEVE THAT, “GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN US, THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD.” MAD DADS believe that we must “...let our light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father...” The organization will encourage all who become MAD DADS to embrace this ideology or one that is consistent with these beliefs.

SELF DEFENSE
MAD DADS must exercise restraint to its very limit. This will justify you should you have to defend yourself. Rest assured you would gain more victories by refusing to be drawn into confrontations than by accepting foolish challenges. MAD DADS must set the tone. SHOULD YOU HAVE TO DEFEND YOURSELF, DO IT WITHOUT HESITATION AND TO THE FULLNESS OF YOUR ABILITY!   However, under no circumstances will MAD DADS be the aggressors. Always be mindful of your opponent’s willingness to use weapons!

BEHAVIOR
MAD DADS are to be courteous and respectful to everyone. Their behavior must be an example to those people with whom MAD DADS come in contact. MAD DADS are expected to treat others as they wish to be treated.  It is MAD DADS policy to maintain a cool posture and level-headedness in all situations. Due to involvement with street level activities, an out of control MAD DAD is at risk and will perform at a distinct disadvantage.  Members shall maintain poise, self-confidence, and a positive demeanor. They shall exhibit those qualities that youth and other men view as being model behavior.  

Finally, MAD DADS shall be prepared at all times to take a course of action that will lead to a positive outcome.

THE MISSION OF MAD DADS IS TO BRING ABOUT POSITIVE CHANGE. TO SEEK OUT, ENCOURAGE, MOTIVATE AND GUIDE COMMITTED MEN IN THE STRUGGLE TO SAVE CHILDREN, COMMUNITIES AND OURSELVES FROM THE SOCIAL ILLS THAT PRESENTLY PLAGUE NEIGHBORHOODS.

MAD DADS EMPLOY STRATEGIES TO ENGAGE PARENTS IN THE INTERVENTION AND PREVENTION OF COMMUNITY PROBLEMS, AND IS DESIGNED TO ATTRACT, CHALLENGE, AND PREPARE THEM TO BE VOCAL, VISIBLE, AND VIGILANT IN RESTORING SAFE COMMUNITIES AND HEALTHY FAMILIES.
