VISION STATEMENT> |

OUR GOALS:
- To recruit, engage and activate MEN in local communities to serve as parental role models to children, adolescents and young adults.
- To guide, instruct and influence children, adolescents and young adults to assure healthy development of each child’s emotional, spiritual and physical well-being.
- To combat social disorder by restoring a stable family environment for children, adolescents, young adults, parents, elders, neighborhoods, and communities.
- To provide positive male mentors and role models as leaders within local neighborhoods, communities and urban cities to address the issues of drugs, gangs and violence.
- To raise the level of public awareness at the local and national level on parental and male responsibility.
OUR OBJECTIVES:
- Replication of MAD DADS Chapter model within EVERY state by the year 2010.
- Develop and implement community based programs to address social needs aimed at youth.
- Develop and implement MAD DADS Signature Programs e.g., STREET PATROLS, while networking with local law enforcement and community based organizations to create and maintain safer neighborhoods, communities and cities.
- Develop and implement projects and activities to mobilize, train and guide men to positively impact the issues of drugs, gangs and violence.
- Develop media campaigns, public forums and policy statements designed to raise public awareness on the role of parental and male responsibility.
Community Service:
MAD DADS members are actively involved as surrogate parents throughout each community, conducting community service projects including:
- Counseling on the streets and showing a genuine interest in youth. Teaching them to become responsible adults by EXAMPLE!
- Tutoring and assisting youth in obtaining job training and employment while providing information and referral services to community based organizations, agencies and groups.
- Working with law enforcement agencies to make local neighborhoods safer.
- Showing parental concern in the community by offering hope, and a visible resistance towards those elements that are destroying the social order within the local community.
- Developing community service projects that address the negative perceptions of today’s youth
